The last couple of weeks has been all about getting snow under my feet. First a couple of days at Beitostølen with Kollenhopp, then four days at Sjusjøen with Lyn ski and now four days in Lillehammer with Swiss-Ski. Its always great when you can replace rollerskis with real skis.
The first day in Lillehammer started great. I got some early christmas presents from Uvex.
Christmas came early
Thanks to Uvex for the cool new equipment
The first xc-session was really nice. We started out from Nordseter in -13 C, but when the sun came up it got a lot better. The conditions was pretty good until we got to Pellestova. From there we went back with a detour in direction Sjusjøen.
The skijumping hill is not ready yet. Which is unfortunate, but they are producing snow around the clock so hopefully we will get to do some jumping this weekend.
Last week we had a trainingcamp in Hinterzarten together with the US Skiteam. It was a week with a lot of focus on skijumping, getting six sessions of jumping and two power-sessions in six days. As a bonus we also had a session with flight-training in a windtunnel in Emmen. That is always really cool, but surprizingly exhausting. My muscles were sore for three days afterwards when I went renewed it doing a new power program.
Getting a week of focus on the jumping part really served me well, since my performance on the hill has been varying a lot so far this summer. Altough I started out on a pretty low level I feel I made good progress throughout the week. Traveling home I am confident that my performance should be more stable on a higher level going ahead.
Now I will try to keep escalating the xc-training volume, to get ready for stepping it up with some high-intensity training again.
All in all a good week, with excelent accomodation. We stayed at the Erfurths Bergfried hotell which served good food, nice rooms and had a sweet wellness section with indoor- and outdoor swimming pools, jacuzzi and saunas. Definatley one of the better places I have stayed.
